If he was receiving an income of £.700 annually it would mean that the present tax would he halve:.!; if £7OO a reduction of 17d in the standard rate: £BOO a reduction of 1-id; £IOOO a reduction of lSd. The cost of the reduction would amount to £2.100.000 for the present year and £1,700,000 for the full year. Mr Churchill spoke for three hours and I 1 minutes. COMPLEMENT FROM LABOUR Mr Snowdon, who was Chancellor in the Labour Cabinet, congratulated the Chancellor on his brilliant party achievement. He welcomed the allowances to children, also the ruling scheme. His only criticism of the latter proposal was its delay until 1020.
