The stone crushing machine has received u thorough renovation, and is now working satisfactorily. Advice has been received from the Public. Works Department of their approval of our plans, specifications, etc., for the.constucLion of two concrete culverts to replace bridges on Awaliou South and Ptrflock's roads. The material will he to hand and a start made with the work at in early dale. The Public Works Department are (piite agreeable that the work of building a, road, at Pii'i j’iri into Cave Creek be earned out hv the Council and have asked for proposals'., (which J (have had forwarded. On receiving authority to proceed with the re-grading and deviation ok on Apiti-Kimbolton mailhighway, a start was immediately made with the excavating, but. :'-s the summer is s'o far advanced, J do not think it ppssiMe to complete tiie work this .season as the cost <•! forming, culverting, and metalling detour road that would carry oral fie. during the approaching winter would he very great. The light grader was used raking in metal on the main highway, and the drain from the culvert to the river cleaned out.

GENERAL The question' of declaring lupin a noxious weed in the Pohangiua County was again discussed, members expressing the opinion that it should be declared a noxious weed in certain parts of the county. Tlie county clerk pointed out that it was not legal to declare the weed to he noxious in certain parts of the county. The whole county had to he included. On the motion of Cr HowelJ it was .decided to call a, public meeting on March 19 to dismiss the clearing ol lupins from both the Pohangiua and Grown rivers. The following transfers of property were granted: Peter McKay to William McKay, sections live and part 6 block X Apiti S.D.; Alice Burton to L. J. Paterson, section 16 Apiti township. Accounts totalling .£789 13s Id were passed for payment.
