A remarkable swim which took place m Kawbia Harbour recently i- vouched for by the llev. C. J. B. King, viear of Kawbia. Air. Jt. Aubin, a resident of Kawbia,. was returning from Kinohaku when hiy motor cycle broke flown. As it was necessary For him to be home by ;•

Part of the way across lie landed on a, sandbank and astonished some Alaorisi who were picking pipis. Mold, a Maori who has Ib'ed in the district for about CO years, says that he had never heard of any one, Maori or Pakeha, sw; aiming across the harbour before. Alt Aubin re-entered tbe harbour and continued bis swim, reaching Kuwln'a in about two hours and a hall.
