“Soon we will have to employ an additional clerk-to devote time solely to supplying the Government and other departments .with statistical
information,” said Air W. L.. Hes_ seltine, the county clerk, 'at the Kiwitea County yesterday, in reading a letter from the Manawatu-Orotfa Electric Power Board asking for details of the capital and unimproved values of the county. Information of this nature was being continually asked for by various departments, both local body and Government, the details required by the Alain Highways Board especially taking up considerable time and encroaching on other duties of the council’s officers. Xo action was decided upon, it being remarked that the Government Statistician dr the Valuer-General was tho proper source for this infer motion. These departments had the necessary staffs to deal witjih jvpq nines.
