The cyclone a t, Newcastle lasted only 15 minutes. it carried everything beorc it and did damage io the extent of £40,f;00 none of which was covered bv insurance.

Accompanied by blinding rain, the cyclone tore it- way along a- clearly defined route about 50 yards wde through, the suburbs <*l Mayfield and Warat-ah.

Iron and tied roofs were blown off like so iniicli paper arid in some instances were' whirled hundreds of yards awav.

Apart, from slight injuries lo tlie-.r lieads suffered by two women who were struck by falling debris. no casa ill ties were- reported. Altogether, 15 homes; were wrecked by ihe cyclone.
