The Provincial Government, having conclusively traced the typhoid epidemic to certain dairy companies, ordered them to bo closed and look complete control, thereby stopping the spread of the disease, but not before a drastic toll bad been taken. During March, April and May 4250 residents of Montreal wore stricken and of these one-tenth succumbed. .Many thousands of dollars wore also lost, dno to the’ epidemic affecting the tourist traffic.
