BOY IN CELLUESID CASE
ABLE TO WALK WITH A BROKEN SPINE;
Jimmy King, the 10-yeur-old Boy Scout from East London, fcouth Africa, who hud travelled 8000 miles on a stretcher to England to seek a cure for his broken spine, arrived in England encased in a jacket of celluloid, and was able to walk. King was accompanied by Ids grandfather, Mr H. 6. Wells.
“it is wonderful to walk again,” lie said to me. “I am going back full of hope, although my spine is not mended —it never can be. ‘‘Sir Hubert Jones, who treats me in a nursing home, placed mo in •plaster of Paris when I arrived, and lie then had a celluloid jacket made for me. i walked a step or two within a week. The jacket extends from my armpits to* my hips, and tits as Lightly as a glove.”
