In the latter more than usual interest was manifested in the bathing beauty eontost. for which a large number of entries were received. Judging was declared most difficult, particularly amoncr the placed ladies. Mrs Seale (Wellington) was first, .Miss O. Smith (Petone) second, and Miss H. Eglinlon (Feathers ton) third.
