Moeraki while on voyage from New Zealand bad the unique experience of passing through the American fleet. r l he sea was like glass, and early in the morning the advance guard of the fleet was sighted. Gradually all the ships of war came into sight. As soon as the fleet was observed, the, captain of the Moeraki ordered all pasenger* to he aroused, and Lhe docks were soon lined with, an admiring throng. Gradually paths of the fleet and lhe Moeraki converged. The vessel’s course _ "asaltered so as not to break- the fleet, s formation, the Moeraki passing between the halleships and the flagship Seattle. 11, was a - memorable sight that will never he .forgotten by the passengers.
