Overseas visitors to London were royally 'entertained yesterday, beginning with a garden party, a fc Hampden Court Palace, at which they were guests of tlie Government. 'Three thousand people assembled,, not all being from overseas, but each having some interest in Empire affairs. Mr L. C. AL S. Amery’s reception lasted nearly two. bonds, '.the scene in the lovely .gardens under an almost tropical sunshine was most brilliant.' and was a veritable pageant of Empire. ’[’lie Duke and Duchess of 'Wellington held an At Home for overseas visitors at tlie famous Apslcy House (a, present to tlie Iron Duke by the nation after Waterloo)., The Duke and Duchess of York’s; party in the evening was most successful. the fine old staterooms at St. James’ Palace forming a splendid setting. The guests included Lord and Lady Jellieoe. Sir J. Cook and Sir -James Allen.
