PRINCE OF WALES.
GETS A GOOD RECEPTION (By Electric Cable—Copyright) (Anst. and N.Z Cable Association) Capetown, May 1. Crowds are not noted for demonstrative enthusiasm, but. it os generally admitted that the Prince’s welcome far surpasses anything previously experienced. The illuminations are on the scale lull c-r----to unknown. The principal streets were a dense mass, Europeans, coloured natives and Indians mingling in common enthusiasm. It was remarked during the morning that the Prince’s famous smile was not so much in evidence as usual, hut his demeanour and affability generally! made the happiest, impression. Undoubtedly, the long 1< oked for visit commenced minor the most favourable auspices. \ The Prince was installed as Chancellor of Capetown University.
