THE HOLIDAY.

Splendid weather was experienced for the holiday. A large number left for tlie' Maria watri race?. The principal local attractions were carnivals at Petone, Lyall Bay, and Eastbourne. ;t Caledonian gathering in the Basin Reserve and tennis contests at Day's Hay. There were a large number of visitors. ' Beaches and seaside resorts were well patronised.
