Soviet Government thanked its delegation to London for its efforts in regard to the Anglo-Soviet agreement. M. Rakovskv, in a speech, contended that the agreement- did not infringe the laws of the Soviet in regard to nationalisation and the annulment of debts, while the Soviet of Russia- would only pay the claims which were recognised as advantageous to itself or lor which social justice demanded compensation. He- predicted the ratification of the treaty, because otherwise property owners and land holders would get nothing. M. Tohiteherin described the treaty as a basis for future relations with other countries. Miss Susan Lawrence, M.P.. was accorded ail ovation when greeted by the M.oscow Soviet on behalf of the British Labour Party. She said the agreement was welcomed enthusiastically in Britain, and urged the two peoples to worlc closely together.
