Uanan (Invercargill), the Prime Minister slated that it is not intended to sak Parliament to amend the Public Service Act this'session. The Hon. W. Nosworthy (Minister of Immigration) stated to the Hon. D. Buclclo (Kaiapoi) that the Government is fully aware, that negotiations is fully aware that negotiations have been in progress between the Federal Government of Australia, and Britain regarding loan proposals for £34,000,00 for land settlement and development schemes, hut details are not yet available. At the preseut time it is not the intention or the New Zealand Government to enter into a similar agreement under the Empire Settlement Act.
