Economics and Citizenship, which has been dubbed the "Copce," opened at Birmingham. Messages from the King, the Premier, and Mr Baldwin were read expressing sympathy with the objects ol the conference.' Several, hundred delegates are present at the conference, which is probably unprecedented in scoj'.e and purpose. The preparations have been going on for three years on a scale which may be judged by the fact'- that the reports on two for consideration on the first., day alone, totalled about 120.0'X) words.
