SALE OF A COW.
JUDGMENT AGAINST A WIDOW. At Morrinsville the liability of a person accepting an- article for contemplated purchase on week’s trial was defined by Mr J. H. Salmon, S.M. Joseph Wales claimed £l3, tho value of a cow sold to Bertha Brass, a. widow, about 12 months ago. Wake took the cow and calf to Mrs Brass who accepted purchase for the amount claimed on a week’s trial. Defendant said she did not know plaintiffs address, and could not let him know that she did not want the cow after the expiration of a week. Plaintiff paid ho called at defendant’s place arid found her out. / The Magktiafe? .-aid that as a. strict interpretation of the law the cow was the property of Mrs Brass at tho end of a week's trial. Plaintiff was awarded judgment for the amount claimed with costs £4 18s 9d.
