London, Afay 2. Tlie return of shipping which passed through the Suez Canal iii 1921 shows that 2975 vessels, whose total tonnage was nearly 25,000,000. Of these 2417 ships, with a total tonnage of 13,500,000 were British. The transit receipts amounted to 143,000,000 fr. (nominally £5,960,000).
