ARE THEY WALKING THE STREETS? (Per Press Association.) Wellington, Alay 9. The chairman of the Wellington Education Board, in reply to a statement made at the New Zealand Educational Institute, Conference, that certificated . teachers of the Training College are walking about the streets of Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch, without-' employment, states that so far as the Wellington Board can ascertain, only one certificated ' exTstudent of the Wellington Training College is without employment at the present time. Tlie reason for her unemployment is the fact that she refused to accept any employment outside Wellington. There are no uncertificated teachers employed in Wellington city, but tliero are some in other parts pf the district. Tho Board v in accordance with its general policy, is replacing these asdfcp, certificated teachers become available, xf) The fact that ex-students restrict their applications to city positions, makes it impossible for tho Board to guarantee them positions.
