CLAY PIGEON MATCH. A very pleasant day was spent by members of the Mangnrimi Gun Club on Saturday last, when an open clay pigeon shooting handicap was held for a gun presented by P. Pagewood Ltd., Bristol. Some very good shooting was done. Messrs J. W. Donald, of Feilding and R-. M. Gray, of Palmerston tied for first place with a possible of 21 birds. The leading scores wore: Hdp. Birds J. W. Donald (Feilding) 12 21 R. M. Gray (Palmerston) 12 21 —. Bretherton (Mangaweka) 8 20 P. Triplov (Feilding) 10 19 P. Triploy (Feilding) 10 19 N. Crabbc (Marton) 14 19 F. Vowlcs (Mangarimu) 8 19 “Jim” (Mangarimu) 13 19 The gathering consisted of some 50 to 60 persons, including a number of spectators from Sanson, Palmerston, Feilding, Marton and Mangaweka. The ladies of the club are to be complimented u]>on their generous catering for the day’s sport. Mr J. Watt, President of the Club, made an efficient refereo and Messrs Moyers and Pratt carried the responsibility of scoring and the day’s secretarial .vork right nobly. It was rather interesting to noto that this littlo country club was established in 1910, and in spite of the scattered population and diverse circumstances caused by war, has boon one of the chief sporting inteiobts of tho district for 12 years. This is tho first open handicap match for a gun which has been iield by tbt Mangarimu Gun OuF.
