Investigations made under the auspices of the Forestry Department and the Sawmillers’ Association regarding the Japanese borer show that the sample treated in not American cottonwood at ali, but Russian timber. Cottonwood is a product of British Columbia and has supplied 80 per cent., of Government requirements in three ply timber for many years.
