ADDINGTON MARKET. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, May 17. At the Addington market the yardings in all sections of stock were smaller. Eat lambs sold a shade hotter, likewise prime fat sheep, but beef was unaltered, and store sheep scarcely sold as freely as last week. Store sheep: A fair entry, principally ewes, with several lines of wethers from very far afield. The market was rather weaker for owes and lambs with wethers much about the same as last week. Forward lambs 14s 6d t 17s 7d, good 12s 3d to 14s, medium 10s Od to 12s, small 8s Gd to 10s, cull Cs to Bs, good halfbred ewe lambs 23s 3d, other ewe lambs lls 6d to 10s, good crossbred 6 and 8-tli ewes 22s to 25s 2d, good 21s Od to 235, ordinary 10s Od to, 20s, inferior low-conditionel 12s 9d to 15s Bd, failing-mouthed lls Od to 15s 3d, aged 3s Od to 8s Gd, fairly forward 0 and 8-tli wethers 18s, ordinary lls to 10s Od, 2-th 12s to 15s 2d. Eat lambs: 4903 penned, about 500 less than last week. The bulk were unfinished. The sale opened at last week’s values, but firmed up near the finish, and averaged about per lb. Extra prime lambs 25s to 30s. prime 21s 9d to 24s Od, medium 19s 9d to 21s Od, light unfinished 10s Od to 19s od. Extra prime steers £l4 to £lB ss, prime £lO to £l3 ss, medium £7 10s to £9 17s Gd, inferior £5 5s to £7 ss, prime heifers £5 5s to 7 15s, ordinary £3 to £5, prime cows £4 15s to £0 15s, ordinary £3 to £4 12s Od. Vealers: Anything good sold at 10s per head better than last week. Runners £5, good vealers £3 10s to £4 10s, medium 30s to 455, small calves 5s upwards. Store cattlo: Three and four-year steers £4 to £0 ss, 2-year 35s to 555, yearling £1 10s to £1 10s Gd, good 3-year heifers £5 to £0 10s, 2ycar £3 10s to £3 ss, yearling 32s Gd to 455, good cows £4 15s, medium 20s to 30s. Dairy cattlo: Demand weaker, but good cows sold at about late rates. Good second and third calvers £l3 to £l7, ordinary £8 to £l2 10s, good •springing heifers £l3, ordinary £7 to £lO IDs, cows in milk for softie time £5, aged inferior cows 10s to £4 10s. Fat pigs: The demand was only moderate. Choppers £3 to £4 10s. light baconcrs £3 to £3 10s, heavy £3 15s to £4 ss, extra heavy £3 15s, averago prico per lb Gd; light porkers 40s to 455, heavy 47s to 645, average prico per lb 7-Id to Bd. Store pigs: Good stores 7s to 8s above late rates, medium stores 2Ss to 325, small 22s to 275, wcaners Gs Gd to 12s.
