Replying to criticism of the Government over the industrial position, Sir George Fuller explained that his Government had been in office only a month. It was unable to relieve unemployment by simply issuing a minute on a problem. Ho was communicating with the Broken Hill Proprietary, with the object of inducing; the steelworks to resume at Newcastle. Other relief works were under consideration.
A Cabinet meeting to-day will dis : cuss a minute urging the adoption ol the new and reduced basic wage.
