N.Z. DAIRY POOL.

NOT COMMENDED .IN LONDON. (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright (Aust \'.Z Cahto London, May 13. A large and representative meeting of the provision trade section of the London Chamber of Commerce discussed New Zealand’s proposed dairy pool. The opinion generally expressed was that pools were generally inimical .to the interests of producers. Discussion was adjourned for a fortnight. MORE LONDON OBJECTIONS. London, May 13. Replying to a letter cabled yesterday, other importers of New Zealand produce, singing themselves “The Majority,” write: “The only difference of opinion is whether the creation of a compulsory pool is the best and only means to secure economies and greater efficiency in the distribution of New Zealand produce, or in the producers’ best interests. It may he that five correspondents, as agents or promoters of the pool, feel themselves safeguarded ns regards supplies hut no satisfactory assurance lias been offered to tho rest of the trade, who are naturally loth to run the risk of scrapping their organisation in deference to the wishes of the promoters of the compulsory pool, who may find themselves unable to carry out effectively all the good intentions with which they aro at present animated.”
