Rises, 7.12 a.m.; sets, 6.32 a.m. LAST NIGHrSFORECAST. Present indications are for strong north-easterly to north-westerly winds northwards of Kawhia and Napier, and north-westerly to south-westerly strong to gale elsewhere. Weather cloudy to overcast, with ram following generally. Barometer falling, but rising again soon in the south. MR, WRAGGE'S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was supplied by Mr Clement Wragge at ; Auckland: The nucleus of the high pressure system is now east from Hawke's Bay, while the isobaric slopes therefrom are still the ruling factors over most parts of the country. In these circumstances further fair to fine weather, with cold nights inland, may be expected; but as tropical low pressure waves are evidently off the North Cape, and an Antarctic disturbance appears to be in high latitudes of the Tasman Sea, increasing haze and cloudiness should become manifest later with rain. TO-DAY'S FORECAST. The indications are for southerly easterly winds moderate to strong. The weather will probably prove cold and showery, but should improve shortly. The night will probably be very cold. The barometer has a rising tendency.
