THE R3B DISASTER. REPORT OF RESEARCH COMMITTEE. (By Electric Cable— Copyright,) (Aust.-N.Z Cable Association.) Now York, Eeb. 23. The Times Washington correspondent states that the report submitted to tiit! British Air Ministry in London by an aeronautic research committee declares that the loss of the dirigible 838 in August. 1921, was due to structural weakness. In design also the 1138 was considerably weaker than the 1123, which was a smaller airship, as no calculation had been made of the aerodynamic force to which the airship would ho subjected. The calculations made by the British design stall were therefore misleading. Neither weather nor faulty material caused the accident. The report, a copy of which was obtained by the Times, has not been published in London, being held there as confidential.
