OPTIMISTIC SPEECH BY THE PREMIER, ADVISES ENERGY AND ECONOMY. ** Premier Massey, speaking at Wanganui yesterday, said a good season was being experienced. He did not say they were having everything their own way but there was not a great deal to find fault with. AYool was not quite as good as he would like to see it, but as far as the export of mtiflt ;Tud produce was concerned the position was very good indeed. AVool was the only "fly in the ointmont," but they would get over it by the exercise of comiiioosonse. If the market was not rushed and they wore guided by other countries, the position would right itself. It was a question of supply and demand. The credit of Zealand was particularly good. Some little criticism which appeared in another Dominion was quite -incorrect. If the producers of New Zealand pulled together for the next year he believed all would be well. Energy should be shown and economy and thrift practised, and every section of the community should do its best or else the responsibility would be theirs, and they would have to put up with it. A great deal would rest with the primary producers. Personally he did not have the slightest fear for the country. Even if they experienced a slump it would not last long, and they would come out of it all right in'tho end.
