/"'•'■♦ THE AUSTRALIAN DISPUTE. NEW AGREEMENT- REACHED 1 The claims of officers were the ■ subject of an in the Arbitration Court in\Melbo.urne last week, before Mr Justice Higgins. The parties to the agreement were the Bank Officers' Association- (claim- < ant) and the following banks (re- \ spfcmdents): —Bank of Australasia, Union Bank, National Bank, Ooinmerical Bank, Bank of Victoria, London Bank, English, Scottish, •and Australian Bank, Royal Bank, Bank of New South. ■ Wales; Austra- \ liari Bank of Commerce (Sydney), Bank of Adelaide, Queensland Nat- , ional Bank, Commercial Bank (Tasj mania), Western Australian Bank, I and Ballara.t Banking Company. s The minimum rates to be paid from 'September I, , less*any deductions for J guarantee, provident, and similar funds, are as follows:' Clerks and Male Typiste.—First year £75, second £95, third. £115, fourth £140, fifth £160, sixth £200, 'seventh £215, eighth £230, ninth £245, tenth £260. Female Typists.—First year £65, second £80, "third £100, fourth £110, fifth £120, sixth £140, seventh £150, eighth £160. In the eleventh year of service clerks and male typists are to receive £280 per annum, in the twelfth and 1 thirteenth years £300, and in the I fourteenth £340. S The minimum rate for adult male ' and female clerks and adult male \ typists shall be £200 per annum, and for female typists £140, irrespective of years of service. Any officer in receipt of .less than £120' per annum, who is required to live away from his usual home, shall have his salary made up to £120 per annum. All wages are to he paid, twice monthly. Overtime is to be paid for at time and α-half, but no overtime may be claimed by officers receiving more than £350 i>er annum. j Clerks with 10 years' or less service i are to be allowed two weeks' annual S leave on full pay, and all officers i with more than 10 years service three I weeks. Mesengers are to be allowed ' two weeks 'leave per annum. ! The agreement is to remain m • : force until January 1, 1922.
