ADDINGTON MARKET. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, June 9. At the Addington Market there was a big yarding of fat stock and an average one of stores. There was an improvement in the store sheep marketed, the mutton market being very firm, whilst an overflow yarding of fat beef met with much easier, sale. Store sheep: Lambs 17s 4d to 21s 10d, inferior 12s 7d to 15s 6d, good 2-tooth lines in lamb 27s lid to 30s lid, cull 2-tooth .ewes in lamb 15s sd, good empty 2-tooth ewes to 27s Id, lowconditioned ewes 24s 10d 3 sound 21s to 275, 4 and G-tootli wethers 26s 4d to 29s 9d, 2 and 4-tooth wethers 24s 6(1 to 27s lid, 2-tooth wethers 24s Id to 29s 6d. Fat lambs: A yarding of 2600 of indifferent quality, an average demand by freezing buyers occupying the bulk." Extra prime lambs to 38s, prime 27s 6d to 32s Id, medium 24s 9d to 26s 9d, lighter 20s to 24s 6d. Fat sheep: A big yarding, with many lines of very prime, both ewes and wethers. A firm tone was displayed throughout, and freezing buyers secured about half the yarding, operating more freely than usual. Extra prime wethers '48s to 60s, prime 39s to 445, medium 34s 6d to 38s 6d, liglit- - er 29s to 34s Id, extra prime ewes 45s to 49s 7d, prime 38s to 425, medium 32s to 27s Id, lighter 25s to 31s 6d. Fat cattle: Penning being much more than butchers' requirements, and freezers not operating, there was a drop in prices,, particularly for .secondary stuff, which chiefly comprised an entry of extra prime steers fctcta ing to £29, prime £19 to £24 15s, medium £15 to .£lB, lighter £8 15s to £14 12s 6d prime heifers £13 to £16 12s 6d, ordinary £7 10s to £12 17s 6d, extra prime cows £18 15s, priino £12 15s to £15, ordinary £8 to £12 Is. 'Dairy cattle: A good demand for decently conditioned cows arid heifers close'to profit. Springing heifers to. £18. second and third calvers (good) to £17 10s, backward cows and heifers to £12. Store cattle: A dragging sale, the lines being difficult to quit. Two-year and a-half steers to £6 15s, 2-year spring calvers to £7 2s 6d, forward cows to £8 6s. Pigs Choppers to £9 10s, light baconers £6 15s, and heavy to £8. The average price per lb was 10d to lOJd; heavy porkers to £5 ss, average per lb Is to Is Ojd.
