FOOTBALL.
MANAWATU RUGBY UNION
The Rugby Union met last evening. There were present: Messrs Ongley (chairman), J. B. Proud, J. Devine, DP. Jones, J. R. Hardie, W. Carruthers, E. Hodder, J. A. Colquhoun, C. White, H. E. Bennett, and W. Harris. A report from the Union's Folding representative was adopted. Dannevirke sub-union applied for , home-and-home rep. matches.. It was agreed to play Wednesday games, starting in,Palmerston North on July 7 or 28. It was decided to defer consideration of a match with Wairarapa, an dto suggest dates for the matches owing to Taranaki and Wanganui. It was decided that Burns, of Feilding Union, who was ordered off for profane critcism of the referee, should be suspended for three playing Saturdays. It was decided that the Wallace Cup,, rfcently donated by Mr Wallace, of Feilding, should apart for representative competititon between Manawiitu and Oroua sub-union. It was decided that the secretary of the Pirates' Club should make formal application for insurance for two casualties lately suffered by the Club's junior team. The treasurer reported a gate of £45 for the seven-a-side tournament. i The practice of both seniors and juniors of the Feilding Football Club will be held in the jPenbigh stables at 7.30 to-morrow night.
