U.S. PRESIDENCY.
WHO WILL BE THE REPUBLICAN NOMINEE? (By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright-) (Aus.-N.Z. Cable Asociation.) New York, June 6. The New York Times' corespondent at Chicago says that with the Republican Convention only "a few days off, no one can even hazard a guess as to who will be nominated. However, a. considerable boom for Mr Hoover started to-night, but the koomers hare not yet come out into the open, though it is whispered that big interests are backing Him. It is argued that Mr Hoover is a friend of the League of Nations, and League supporters wil lnaturally back' him. It would seem _ to-night, however, that Mr Johnson is favourite. Women are expected to play a big part in this year's Presidential nomination.
