BIRKENHEAD DOCK TRAGEDY.

A collier leaving the dock atßirkenhead crashed into the dock gates, and the water pouring, out into the nver overturned barques and small crait. The collier herself was washed into the river on a 10ft ware, and the rescue of the vessels was hopeless against the torrent. Six lives were lost.
