REMIT ON AGGREGATION

Tlie annual meeting of the Feilding branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held in the Secretary's cilice yesterday afterijpon. Mr A. Campbell (Chairman) presided. The balance-sheet showed a credit of £51, and donations during the year totalled £31 to various outside funds, for which appeals were made.

The meeting endorsed the action of the Chairman in sending a message to this Government urging prompt action to control the outbreak of cattle tick.

The report of the year's work stated: We have every reason to rejoice at the successful termination of the war which -caused so much loss of valuable lives and treasure. We deplore the suifering caused by the war, and sincerely sympathise with those who have lost their bravo relatives-in protectiing their Empire. We cannot help referring to the late unfortunate epidemic which caused so much sorrow throughout the Dominion, and offer our condolences, to the bereaved ones.

The following remits for the Provincial Conference in Wellington, on May 27 were "adopted: 1. That a local committee of practical farmers he appointed iv each district from time lo time to act with ihe Land Purchase Board in selecting land for returned soldiers. 2. That in view of the serious menace aggregation of land is becoming to the welfare of the country, the Government be urged to take more effective measures to prevent same.
