Invcrcargill, .May 1. Arthur Leo Beor Asbton. a prisoner oil the way to tho Borstal Institution at. Invercargill, made a sensational'escape from the express. Asbton. who was sentenced for theft at Dunedin to two years' reformative treatment, look advantage of the reduced n\)*vd of the train at Edendalc cutting and made a dash through a carriage to the plat form, and from there leaped to the ground. Constable Waclge leapt from tbe train in pursuit, but Asbton gained tlie dense bush adjacent to the line and escaped towards tho Ilokouui ranges.
