Surveyor, who won the Welcome Stakes and fractured Conqueror's record for four furlongs on Wednesday last, is by the imported Nassau from Pedometer, and was bred by his owner (Mr. G. L. Stead).

In winning the New Zealand Trotting Cup, Author Dillon put up a fresh time record for the race, covering the distance in 4.26 2-5. Author Dillon went through last season without scoring a win. He ran third in the Cup last season.

Michaela, winner of the Steivards Handicap, was bred by Eev. Father Farthing, of Gore. The Rev. Father has a two-year-old full sister to Michaela. who is full of promise.

Sir George Clifford has a fine colt in Onslaught, who has shown that he can encompass a mile with the best of the Dominion's handicap horses. Antagonist, sire of Onslaught, Avas himself a remarkably brilliant horse, but he went wrong as an early stage in his career.
