POLITICAL POSSIBILITIES.
The prospect is (says last night's Post) that Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward will be on their way soon to London. It is estimated that the Peace Conference, which they are to attend, will take at least two months. A point in doubt is whether the session will continue after the departure of the two leaders. It may be possible to push through sufficient legislation to permit a winding up of the session quickly. It is not expected that any comprehensive education reform can be pushed through in a rush session, but teachers will have some comfort in certain increases of salary. It is believed to be certain that, however short the session may be, the Government will agree to a referendum on the liquor question. '"Some time in March" is mentioned for this voting.
