WAR TIME ELECTIONS BILL. (Received September 8, 8.45 a.m.)
Ottawa, September 7. Mr. Meighcu introduced the War Time Elections Bill, providing for the disfranchisement of aliens of enemy origin naturalised since 1912, and tho enfranchisement of the wives, mothers, sisters, and daughters of soldiers. The Bill is criticised because of its illogical distinction between women with relatives in the army and other women equally patriotic. Mr. Meaghen justified the disfranchisement of aliens, and quoted, the precedent, created in Australia prior to i the elections.
