BIG WANGANUI SCHOOL BURNT.
Queen's Park, School, one of the principal State schools in Wanganui. was practically destroyed by firo at midday yesterday. As this is holiday week, the origin of the outbreak is a mystery. The fire had a strong bold when it was discovered. The insurances total £1000, besides which the Education Department takes the risk over the newest portion of the •■■chool. Arrangements have already been made for temporary premises for the re-opening of the school next Monday, ft. has also been stated that an attempt was made, during the week to set fire to the Victoria Avenue School at Wanganui. Same time ago there was an incendiary scare in Wanganui. and the Education Board bad to make arrangements for a night patrol for the protection of the schools ami ('iris' College.
