Sir William James Thomas, the Welsh millionaire coal-owner, and Miss Maud Mary Cooper, of Bexhill, assistant -matron of the King Edward VII. Hospital, Cardiff, were married at St. Mary Abbot's Church, Kensington.
The ceremony was simple, and there wen.- no bridesmaids, but a large congregation was present. Sir William Thomas, who was knighted in 1914, is noted for his generous gifts. He equipped the Welsh University Medical School at the King Edward VII. Hospital at a cos 1 ; of £100,000.
