CHANGE OF TITLE.
IN HONOUR OF NEW ZEALAND'S SERVICES. NOW GOVERNOR-GENERAL. (Received June 27, 1 p.m.) London, June 26. In recognition of the services rendered by New' Zealand since the outbreak of war, the King has been pleased to command that the titlo of his representative shall be changed from "Governor of New Zealand" to that of "Governor-General," and letter s patent dated May 11, 1917, to tli'.s effect havo passed the Great Seal of tho United Kingdom. His Majesty the King has been graciously pleased to approve of the appointment of the Right Hon. tho Earl of Liverpool, G.C.M.G., M.V.0., to ho the first Governor-General and Comman-der-in-Chief of the Dominion of New Zealand. AVellington, .Time 27. His Excellency, in accordance with His Majesty's command, will take the oath of his new office at noon tomorrow on tho steps of the Parliarricntaiy Library Building.
