THE MAN WHO HAS NEVER READ OF THE WAR,
London, Juno 24. A Plymouth Brother, who appeared at tho Essex appeal tribunal yesterday, made the extraordinary statement that ho had not read anything about the war.
"Do you mean to say that your country's affairs do not interest you?" asked Mr C. Hope, K.C. "Not its warfare." was the reply.
Do you know what is happening to England ?—Only by hearsay.
Do you know England is in danger of invasion?—l have heard so.
Do yoii believe it?—l don't attach much importance to rumours.
What would bo England's position if everybody accepted your view? — God would protect.
He was ordered to do work of national importance.
