THE GERMAN MOVEMENT. SOCIALIST MEETINGS PROHIBITED.

Amsterdam, August 2. The authorities have prohibited the meeting at Stettin of a committee recently formed to spread the idea of peace based on Count Hollweg's proposals—viz., the retention of the occupied territory in the East and guarantees regarding Belgium. Copenhagen, August 2. Socialist peace -meetings arranged throughout Germany on the occasion of tho second war anniversary have been prohibited because the leaders refused to allow the manuscripts of the speeches to he censored.
