THE STRUGGLE ON THE BVINA
(Received March G. 9.5 a.m.) London, March 5. The Petrograd correspondent of the Observer says a curious tremor thrills the north Russian front, as if anticipating the coming struggle. German aircraft ill eossan tl y rccon i) Xii 1 ring, the movements of many troops going on behind the enemy's lines, the big preparations for hospitals and ambulances, anel the constant outbursts of artillery fire along the Dviua show the general, watchfulness. The situation of the '-Germans on the Dvina is unenviable. The early thaw submerged whole companies and engineers were brought, from Germany to drain the swamps and rescue the isolated uniLs, and flotillas of boats were utilised to save the artillery.
