Says the same venturesome journalist already quoted: in Turkey the Germans "bribed Arab chiefs to light against the English by gifts of money, jewellery, horses, and even Circassian girls. In Bulgaria, the wily Germans hand over to the treacherous Bulgar all Servian loot, which is seen everywhere. This system of bribery is effectual, Bulgarian and German ofiieers fraternising freely together. German soldiers and Bulgar girls tire sweethearts. There is no sugar in Bulgaria, and only black bread, for which tickets arc given. There, is a fihorfcage ol coal, and already the Bulgarians aro feeling a degree of poverty under their German masters. If tho Allies politically took advantage of this and fomented trouble out ol : it, the result would ho dissension, despite German cajolery, gifts, and promises.
