FEILDINGITES AT THE BEApH

The youngsters have been having a great time at Foxton beach this year with games and competitions of all kinds, making one of the most enjoyable seasons yet recorded at tlie seaside. On Friday afternoon sports arranged by Mrs Grant were held, including swimming and diving events for boys and girls. Mr Hocking officiated as starterj and Mr McDonald judge. Tho boys' race under 16 years was wen by T. Stockwelh. J. Rose 2, Davidson 3. The girls' race was won by Tholma Short (FeiWing), Dorothy Sanson (Glen Oroua) 2. The prizes for tho former wero donated by Mr McDonald, and for tho latter by Mr Hocking. The prize for the best built sand castle, for girls of 11 to 16 years, was won by Miss Blake; best designed sand path (girls from 7 to 11 years), M. Pratt; Union Jack drawn iv the sand (boys from 7 to 11 years), Masters Kcill (Sanson) and Williams; Fronch flag drawn in the sand (boys 7 to 11 years), Master Palmer (of Palmerston); best sand mode} of head, Roy Pratt, who showed great talent in his model of Premier Massoy's head. Tho prizes wore presented by Mrs McMurray in the evening at Mrs MacKenziVs house, whero a euchre party wa« held, tho lady's prize being won by Mrs Smart, and the Kentlemon's by Mr SenkeTl.
