Butter.—Tho market is firmer. The Danish market is very quiet at 156s to 158s. Tho New Zealand market closed firm at 144s to 148s, unsalteS 158s to 1625. The Australian market is quiet but firm at 140s to 1465. Tho Siberian market is quiet at 124s to 130s; Argentine, 136s to 140s ; Tho cheeso market remains firm. The Canadian market is quiot but linn. United States was in fair «lomand; white ami coloured, 97.5, English cheddar, 104s to 100s; Cheshire, 114s to 120s. Hemp.—Tho market is steadier, with a good demand for all descriptions. Prices arc firm. Now Zealand good fair, on spot, £47 10s; fair, £46. Manila : New graded fair, £55 ; coarse £50. February to May shipment: New Zealand good fair, £46 10s; fair, £45; Manila, new graded fair £54, coarse £49. Tow: Second grade on spot £25, forward shipment £21. The wheat market is slightly weaker, with less demand. Ganadian, arrived, per quarter, 60s 6d; February to March shipment, 65s 6d; Australian February to March shipment, steamer, 65s 6d; sailer 645. The onts market is dull and very little business is doing. Argentine: On spot, per quarter, 31a 6d; February to March shipment 335.
