THE TERRITORIAL CAMPS.
With regard to the coming camps for the annual training of Territorials, employers will be interested to learn that provision, has been made for exemption in certain .cases from attendance, For example, when men have had four years' Territorial training, aud whose employers cannot spare tlrani, they should be'advised to apply at once to a magistral© for the necessary exemption on account of. undue hardship. It must, however, bo made clear that such exemption shall apply onjy to a man's obligation under General Regulations. On this understanding adj.utantg of units or other permanent officers dvalji/nx with the cases have been instructed to appear at the hearing, and facilitate in everyway the granting of such exemptions, always provided the men applying for such' pxeiuptjrjfjs produce evidence to support their application.that attendance' at annual or casual camps would seriously, interfere with tlie work or businlcss of their employer. A statement to this effect front their- employer may be accepted as sufficient evidence. While affording every facility in genuine cages, carp will be taken to see that this concession is not abused.
