TOO RIDICULOUS FOR THEM.
I havo heard an interesting story (says a correspondent of the Liverpool Post and Mercury), which I believe to be worthy of credence, of the inglorious career of the latest German U boat. She was the first of the enemy super-submarines, 250 feet in length, with a. 20 feet beam, and, in addition to her torpedo -tubes, --she carried four guns of fairly large calibre. She was launched at Stettin. and within a few hours of leaving her base she was securely c&ugjhL in one of the traps we have so skilfully laid for these or aft somewhere in th© ' German ' oceam. The surprise _ and # chagrin of her officers may be imagined. Indeed, so great was their disgust that they ■absolutely refused t» t make any statement in regard to tjieir vessel. Onn of ifcho crow, however, was more talkative, and from him the captors heard with satisfaction the brief and tragic history of the submarine. Our experts have made an inspection' of our latest prize, a-nd find that in this branch of naval construction the enemy have nothing to teach us.
