SELF-RELIANT POLICY.

On Rockview Estate there is at least oue farmer who is independent of outside labour (writes a correspondent of the Sydney Morning Herald). This is Baptista JJorioni, an Italian share farmer, whose family consists of but one daughter. The whole of the harvesting work on his urea—of between 200 and 300 acres—is being done, and done effectively, too, by the man and tho girJ. The work on tlie farm certainly affords a rather impressive lesson in self-reliance and energy and economic farming. On Rockview und Merrulebale 16,000 acres of land has been cropped this season by 30 share farmers, and it is estimated that the aggregate yield will be something over 300.000 Wags.
