Greytowu, October 5. A" fire, last night destroyed the residence owned and occupied by Mr Sampel Feast. The girls had,been to Wellington, and returned on the excursion train. They lighted a spirit lamp to heat some water. The lamp oxploded, and set fire to the room. The rest of the occupants escaped in their night attire. Everything was destroyed. As the ljou'se was situated two miles from Greytowu, no help from tho firo brigade could be obtained.
