ARRIVAL OF TROOPS FROM INDIA.

King George has issued two messages to the troops landing at Marseilles. The first, to the British troops, states: — 1 have implicit, confidence in. you, ray. soldiers. Duty is your watchword, aud 1 know your duty will be nobly done." The second message is to the Indians, and says:— I know with what readiness my brave loyal Indian soldiers are prepared to fulfil their sacred trust on the field of battle, shouldor to shoulder with comrades from all parts of the Empire. T bid you go forward and add fresh lu-str-e- to the glorious achievements ami the noble traditions of courage and chivalry of my Indian army, whose honour fame is in your bunds. [ Stirring scenes were witnessed at Marseilles when 'tho Indian-British troops marched to the eainpinggrouiuls. The streets and roads were crammed with oxcited spectators, crying "Vivent les Hindous," and struggling to shake hands with them. The women presented them with oiagrettes and fruit, the girls strewed flowers, and pinned them in the tunics and turbans of tho Hindus. Enthusiasm reached fever height whon the Gurkhas struck up "The Marseillaise" on their weird instruments.
